Our House

Well, I guess we're posting house pictures :-) Here are some of the ones of the house along with the apple tree and neighborhood that I took last spring for our dossier. I've already posted a picture of Myli and Woogie's room. Some things have changed. The boys beds are bunked and the train table is in their room now. I got tired of my decor in the kitchen and took everything off the cabinets. I actually hung up some of the pictures in the family room, so now there not piled on that table, well not all of them anyway! Can't wait to see the pink trees again this spring! It can't be long...

  • beautiful home... must be nice to have things finished, we've been in remodel hell now for 5 years now and I still don't see an end in sight....

  • Thanks, Dani! Things are far from finished, though! Strategic photographing! LOL! We are about to undertake some much needed remodeling. We are just waiting to see if it's going to be - remodel so we can sell or remodel so we can live here for many more years by building an addition. The jury's still out...

  • Thanks everyone! You guys are too nice! We love those rockers in the summer, Nichole! After the kids go to bed, we sit out there and talk for hours (unless the mosquitoes are out that its!). That's when I really don't want to move :-(

  • I second the porch and rockers, they look so relaxing!! Wow and your yard is beautiful, it looks huge! Good luck deciding and a move or a remodel both can be big jobs. We built our house 3 years ago and we are still working on things. Houses are never ending :)

  • Do you have a basement?

  • I love your house, the wonderful big yard and everything you have done so far. It looks like a great family home and I would stay in it ( hint, hint, hint).

  • Yard - 1/2 acre, big enough, especially in the summer when it needs mowed!

Basement - We finished the basement into the playroom and the family room to try to add more space. Beyond the family room is also an office. There's a storage closet as well as a utility/laundry/storage room that is unfinished beyond the playroom.

Ute - I want to stay! The estimates for the additions came back really high, like more than we paid for the house! I'm hoping maybe we can do at least part of it ourselves, but still do it. I love our neighborhood too much to move!

  • Hey Jen, I'm confused.

I thought you had children at home, but ...there are no child remnants (toys, clothes, etc) strewn about...

You guys are trying to shame the rest of us into cleaning so that we can take pictures of our homes & post them, huh?

Really, you have a beautiful home and it looks very welcoming!

  • Shari - LOL! Honestly, what I did was go one room at a time, clean it, hurry up and take a picture before it could get messed up again, and then go to the next room! By the time I was done, the whole house looked like a tornado had hit it again!

  • I love your yard!!! You have trees, grass... wow! It's beautiful. I can completely relate to your process for taking pictures. My kids are going to have two different visual records of their childhood homes... the "posed" pictures for the dossier/house for sale, and the background of EVERY other photo I took of them.
